Yuppiechef founders invest in Livecopper

 

[Cape Town, South Africa] – [1 September 2023] – Yuppiechef co-founders Andrew Smith and Shane Dryden -  through their investment vehicle Moa Holdings - have purchased an equity stake in Livecopper, a leading provider of building fixtures to industry professionals in South Africa.

The acquisition will allow Livecopper to accelerate its growth and expand its product offerings. It will also allow the company to leverage the expertise of Smith and Dryden in the e-commerce and retail sectors.

Livecopper was founded in 2012 by Allingham and Andrew Davies. The company provides a one-stop e-commerce platform for industry professionals to source building fixtures, including lighting, plumbing, and sanware. Livecopper offers a wide range of products from leading brands, as well as value-added services such as sourcing, plan reading, and lighting design.

Dryden and Smith co-founded Yuppiechef in 2006 having a strong track record of innovation and customer service in both the ecommerce and traditional brick-and-mortar retail environment. Yuppiechef was acquired by Mr Price Group in 2021 and Dryden and Smith have since gone on to found the outdoor retailer Brave Hardy.
